breeding cories
Spawning cory's:
What you will need.
Have either a 10 or 15 gallon tank set up/bare bottomed but well cycled. (a running sponge filter?)
Do give the cories something to hide around.
Get 6 of the same kind. be sure they are mature
Feed very heavy on black worms and frozen brine shrimp.
Water changes are the most important thing in spawning them.
You need to do them frequently - 25% at least once a week. Now keep your eye on the weather channel for a low front/system to approach.
Once the low system hits your area, do a 50% water change a few degrees cooler than the tanks current temp. This will incite them to spawn.
When they lay eggs use a single edge razor blade and scrape the eggs off the glass and put them in a plastic tub with water from the tank with.a drop or two of methylene blue.
Float the tub in a tank that has 80 degree water temps.
It takes three days for the eggs to hatch and then three more days for the egg sack to be gone.
Feed the babies on micro worms and frozen bbs and keep the bottom clean you should have a bunch of baby cory's to find homes for.

Re: breeding cories
Thanks! I am thinking about trying cory cats. With all of your experience and tips this club is going to have to host an auction in no time. We will have more babies than we know what to do with. Thanks Ira Keep them coming!
