methylene blue question

So I treated a tank with methylene blue today. I forgot to take out 1/2 of the biomax media. 
Will this grow bacteria again? Should I trash it? If it will grow bacteria again, do I need to rinse it or soak it or do something to it first?

You don't have to trash it.....It will recolonize. I would rinse it in tank water (NOT tap). Meth Blue will stain everything it touches so the media will be blue. Did you take the filter media out so it wont absorb all of the Meth. blue?
