Mystery Snail....Mystery!!
I have grown to just adore my Magenta & Yellow Mystery snails. They are always on the go and are really fun to watch!!.....until.......about two weeks ago they just stopped "traveling". They are alive but not moving at all. The best they do is partially come out of the shell....and that's it!
Anyone a snail guru?? Any ideas on why they are so "slug"ish!! ( I HAD to!! )

I lost a couple of yellows as well, Bill! When we first got them. These have been cruising at a pretty good pace until a couple of weeks ago. Hope I'm not doing anything to hurt them but tank is exactly the same other than a 3-4* temp increase.

Possible causes are starvation, high copper levels, small amounts of ammonia and nitrite present, high nitrates or phosphates, and being picked on by other fish to the point of starvation or lethal wounds cause infections.

also check the KH to make sure they have enough calcium to build their shells.
and keep a good eye on them, a dead snail of that size will foul a tank pretty quick!

I hear they are quite easy to breed given the right conditions..they need brackish water and an air pocket above the water to lay their eggs. After that I am not to sure..
I can never keep those snails alive for more than 6 months ugh..

I had some in Richmond in a 10 gal planted tank with endlers and the big albino (golfball size constantly laid eggs above the waterline. I scraped them off and disposed of them as I had too many.

Also make sure your ph isn't too low. I killed a few that way.
