60 gallon hexagon
Just got a 60 gallon hexagon and don't know what to do with it . Thinking of making it a planted discus tank . What do you guys think I should do? Any ideas or suggestion is welcome.

You should sell it to me!! LOL!! I LOVE hex tanks, and bow fronts!
Discus would be cool, or move your Angels into it. They would look awesome cause they are such "tall" fish. If I can ever get these GLOs to breed again...they would be a great addition.
Be sure to post pics of the work in progress! Congrats on the new score!

Re: 60 gallon hexagon
This is my first Hexagon tank I have had bow front before its cewl but not as cewl has hexagon tank. So many possibilities so little space @Doxie(Julia) hmm...I'm actually thinking of upgrading my 55 for something bigger since my stand can handle about 100 gallon. I'm still waiting on your glofish babies >.> I jst got more DD eggs My DD parents are really good parents considering they are still very young pair. Still having some fungus problems but been using ich-x. @Alowishus come join the club bro and get a bow font or hexa hehe..This is kind of the vision I have at the moment but now sure how to achieve it since its a hexagon tank http://s1105.beta.photobucket.com/user/discuspaul/media/FTS-Osaka260/CopyofFTS-saka260007.jpg.html?sort=3&o=7

Re: 60 gallon hexagon
I know skhool of fish has nice discus for decent price. I know one of my employee named Robert(if any 1 knows him ) who also sells discus. I will look around before making any decision. But I'm thinking of changing my ph or just talk to some experienced discus keeper. Should I or should I not change my ph?? Currently my ph is 7.6 that's a little too high for discus I think. Bill what is your thought on changing ph??

Re: 60 gallon hexagon
Everything I've read tells me that while the PH at 7.6 is a bit higher than their native habitat, the key issue is the stability of the PH. Plus, an overwhelming majority, if not over 90%, of Discus you might acquire, other than through special order, aren't wild-caught's and will generally come from an assortment of PH levels.
I'm lucky in that my tap is just over 7 but magically drops into the low 6's over time in the tank. I used to collect dropped oak leaves from the woods around my home, bundle the stems with a rubber band and sorta plant the stem bunch in the substrate.

Re: 60 gallon hexagon
He breeds flower horns and discuss from what he told me. He seems to be good friends with rama from what he told me. I knew that for ph the best thing to do is keep it stable but most of the people I know that keep discus like to lower their ph.
