post all your saltwater pix here!
Alright everyone, I wish I could afford a salt water tank but for now I will be happy just being a spectator. So with that said I take a million pix of tanks I see throughout servicing and doing random things at my job, so i figured I would love to post some of these pictures and would like to encourage others to do the same as well. I really enjoy photography and all so to me its all about subject, and what better than fish tanks, ah nature simulated or not!
So here is a huge green and pink monoporia (I think that's the spelling) aka plate coral in a 700+gal tank.
edit: well I will have to upload it tomorrow, its not working right now, but point is there..

Andy.. Like most forums, there is a 7 day wait period before posting pics and other items... It is a means of cutting down spammers. If ya can't wait, YOU can add them as your avatar...or email them to me and I can post them on your behalf.. Sorry about that restriction. Bill
p.s. Sketch (Andy) has posted them on a FB page and it's an awesome specimen!

Bill change it to a post limit rather than a day limit or cut it to 3 days, most spammers fly by night and dont bother coming back a second day Or are not willing to do 15 posts just to get a link or pic up

Well its okay about the pix thing, I usually use a hyperlink to another site. I do not see a photography section but I will post a few here:
~Giant plate coral in a random tank.
Bunch of corals in a 180 gal room separator tank.
All from me for now!

Thanks very much! mind you these were taken with my cell phone, but turned out decent. No it is actually rose anemone I believe, this guy had them splitting like wildfire, this particular variety is worth a good amount when large I hear.

My curiosity grows. So where would I find the really good online primer?
I've got an unused FX5 and an empty 75 that goes begging.

Canisters arent cery good for salt, you would either want a sump or and aquaclar hang on to run one. 75g is a perfect size!

Re: post all your saltwater pix here!
the ac110 is perfect! You can run two if you want and turn one into a refugium with your macro algae (plant filtration) and another for your carbon and stuff.
I have one running on my 100g long for my chemical filtration and have made a fuge in the corner with a macro that fish wont eat, aka bush and pile of shells in the corner = fuge. But I have 6' to play with.
There are plenty of hang on skimmers on the market. A tank does not 'have' to be drilled to be salt, all the stuff can just hang on it.

Re: post all your saltwater pix here!
hey salt is easy, IF YOU TEST! you just cant be lazy and pray the power doesn't go out heh! Now to make a successful reef with minimal algae, that is a challenge, but DONT OVERFEED and using the correct media and replacing it often will help more than one might think (Bio chem zorb, Chemi pure, my favorite Purigen, Phos Lock, Phos Gaurd, etc...the list goes on). Okay time for a new picture of the week I guess..
Here's a HUGE piece of Fungia Coral:
And here is an unknown starfish:
Guess I am running a one man show here, but it's fine I am happy to share Some one once said something to the effect of, if you aren't at the top of what you do then you better try your damnest to be the best you can be!

Aww thats a nice fungia! I miss mine, my tank all of a sudden didn't like my fungias any more so my friend is babysitting my mother colony lol
yes testing is a very big part!
I honestly dont use any chemical media, I do my 30g water change every two weeks and have a very small fishload.
