Most folks put two heaters in their valuable tanks in the belief that if one heater dies, at least the other one will carry the load.... Well, mine went the other way and cooked my German Blue Ram tank... a few pleco's went with them. I swear the temp had to be close to 120! Well.. Rama, here I come for another batch of GBR's... Unless I hook up with the NY breeder in a few weeks...Bill

Sucks to hear that. I like to practice having two heaters and keep both heaters small enough to prevent that situation from happening. But sometimes it still happens.

Yea.. I didn't expect a 50W heater in a 33L would have the umph to heat a tank that high... It musta been running like a runaway freight train!
