Neo - Should have given you yesterday. I have a HOB that was in a bulk purchase I made. U tube of intake is broken. Otherwise fine. Free. Maybe Bill has an extra u tube or you can craft one with something.

Re: Need filters
Bill got a lot of miscellanea from me a few months ago that included at least two new, unused U tubes - either Emperor or Penguin or both, I don't remember. He may still have them..
Have you ever tried sponge filters? They're the bee's knees.

Don't really like the sound of air pumps anymore and with sponge filters you have clean your tank much more then regular which I'm kind of trying it avoid. Since all I do now a days is clean tanks...lol

Re: Need filters
Not if you drive them with powerheads and get the flow patterns right. My FW tanks were very virtually maintenance-free, which is a large part of why I got out of FW.

Re: Need filters
It takes some trial and error to dial in. Just like with any other mechanical filter, the idea is to keep the detritus suspended until its caught by the intakes(s) - in this case the sponge. Always get the Pro sponges - they permit far more flow. An 80 Pro sponge in each back corner driven by MJ1200s kept my tanks spic 'n span once I got the patterns set.
