Interested in sumps has anyone built are bought one that works in fresh water setups are they worth the effort ? Pros an cons I understand if power goes out the tank an sump need air flow but what about clarity an bacteria holding I'm curious seen some great setups on YouTube an diy central but there's no time lapse just when built

Sumps generally are worth the effort for larger tanks. My rule of thumb for a large tank is that if it is drilled I use a sump, if not I use external filters - and occasionally canisters.
