Kat12 plant list with some comments
- Moneywort - it's having some issues but coming back
- parrot feather - leaves under water fell off but again, coming back
- water lettuce - mailed incorrectly and smooshed and almost dead, but in main tank with 5t bulbs reproducing now
- hornwort - the fry love it! though the first batch I got I managed to kill (where's my ribbon for that!)
- giant baby tears - I hate these things, I've given up on them staying in the substrate mostly and using them floating in the baby tank!
- Hygrophila (??? temple plant) - this really fills in my heavier planted side well
- hygrophila corymbosa (narrow leaf?)- so far slow hoping picks up and gets some nice leaves
- Red jungle vals - super tall and drape across the water all the way to the front of my tank from the back
- corkscrew vals - not as much twist as I would like on these ones
- java fern - planted too deep so waiting for some to heal up
- crypt wendtii - green red and bronze - really enjoying these.
down to here is all from ebay http://myworld.ebay.com/jdaquatics13?_trksid=p2047675.l2559 in NC so quick postage time and he ships quick. - Amazon frogbit - give me another ribbon, I killed my first batch of this too, but second batch reproducing well
- Water Sprite - this is a stupidly easy plant but I love it! can float or be planted
- java moss - collects more particles than I would like but the fry like it.
- marimo balls - ok, another stupid plant, but again, I love them!
- aponogentens - it's ok
- anubias barteri petite - got some ryzomes and they take forever have tiny leaves now
- Melon Sword - really like the look of this and it's grown in well
- crypt undulate - works well
- true christmas moss - only got a tiny amount of this so still waiting on it to fill in at all
- Salvinia cucullata- got this by accident with some fry I bought. It reproduces quickly
From Victor here is under this, just got - Blyxa japonica - waiting to reproduce
- green cambomba - much different look than my other things in my main tank
- dwarf sagittaria - much needed short plant
- rotala macrandra - A COLOR OTHER THAN GREEN!!!
- ludwigia repens - see above
- subwassertang - such a different look and fun - living in curl of dragon's tail in main tank
- anacharis - floater in baby tank.
- Echinodorus angustifolia 'Vesuvius' tiny spiral plant that I love that 1 ran away
What were the others Victor? Do you remember?
end victor list for now. - Azolla - pretty and tiny floater with some duckweed mixed in. currently Moe food.

Kat.. your Java fern should NOT be planted. The "stem" portion is basically a rhizome (I think).. that should be tied to a piece of driftwood or lava rock... That'll soon send out "crimpon's" that will anchor the plant eliminating the need for the tie-down... Burying the rhizome will cause it to decay and kill the whole plant. Bill

I have a tiny bit of java ferns that grew off a leaf that I kept just to say I still had some, I sold off the other 5 or so for someone else to do tlc with because they bothered me. they were tied to the head of my dragon in my main tank and I think the excel affected them and they looked like crap so maybe in the future I'll give them another try, but for now they pissed me off and got evictedwilliemcd wrote:Kat.. your Java fern should NOT be planted. Re: Kat12 plant list with some comments
Looks like you listed all the plants that I gave you. There may have been some pieces that got mixed in, since I was just blindly grabbing stuff before leaving for work. Recently I allowed the duckweed to take over and lost a few of my plants. Once things recover I'll let you know and see if you want swap anything.

Does anyone have some moss they'd like to give up?? Kat..I want mine to look like yours on the driftwood! Need "schooling" on this because I don't know much about plants!! I have some small (4-5") Amazons swords to trade.
I had some Java moss tied to driftwood but it died during my blackout for BGA. It never really did so well, anyway!

I have a ton of java moss and might be able to trim you some Christmas moss. The driftwood you like is the java and.... the riccia. the Fontinalis antipyretica and the Fissidens fontanus I don't have a lot of since just got it and haven't even decided where to put it yet I might tie one of them to the dragon in my main tank. I was surprised when I did the water change in the 29 with the Christmas moss, and the tank having been green..... how much the moss had grown already!

Re: Kat12 plant list with some comments
Christmas moss when the fronds are tied to something they each grow out in the shape like a christmas tree. Or so people say, I'd need to see if mine is doing this...
I get there are diff kinds of mosses, but swear I have like 4 diff types of java moss. all are suppose to be java but they all seem different.
What kind of swords do you have Doxie?
