Re: Tiger endlers
Well, for these guys, you just told us you know everything about HALF of them Tiger endlers are a hybrid of guppies, and their very similar, males slightly smaller, more inventive/competitive "cousins"
Full endlers/hybrids, they really put on a show wen the males are wanting to breed. I find them to be pigs They are said to not eat their own young.

Re: Tiger endlers
That "know all" is a very broad claim!! LOL.....I'm just like you two! Some days, I don't know a whole lot about anything!! Just letting you guys know I'm familiar with Guppys ..NOT Endlers!
So if they don't eat their young...do they breed as prolifically? And are the brood numbers about the same?

Ok, for sake of counting, I saw how many I could catch. With catching mostly juvi's I got up to 53, Still probably that many left in the tank at that point. Didn't catch any of the adult females or the well colored up males.

Re: Tiger endlers
Kat!....LOL. I will never ask for a group photo!! If they wont even stay still for a head count!!....Ahhh kids! So the broods are about the same.
How can someone be SURE they are breeding real "Endlers" and not a "mix". Bill says that's very common so IF i got some...would I have to know/trust the breeder??

Someone shared a tip with me in how to figure out the number of fry ya have!,.., Take a photo of it, bring that photo up on some photo editing software and super-impose the count over each fish! Bill

Re: Tiger endlers
Photo editing would work if the whole tank could be in focus at once and no hiding places. I've done it for snail egg counts before, but I can't get it to work for endlers.williemcd wrote:Someone shared a tip with me in how to figure out the number of fry ya have!,.., Take a photo of it, bring that photo up on some photo editing software and super-impose the count over each fish! So far as hybrids or mixes - you need to know what pures look like and what hybrids look like as well as trusting who you are getting them from. I have access to orchid endlers.

Re: Tiger endlers
Note.... the hybrids look just as nice as the wild strain... My post was just to acknowledge that the conservationist are asking that those who do have some wild strains, refrain from diluting the line! Bill
