This is one of my favorite live-bearers...
Note! The wild strain of these are fast disappearing. They will cross with standard guppies (Cousins) in a heartbeat so it's urged that IF YOU MANAGE to get a group of wild strain, you do not mix them with guppies!
One of the more attractive features of Endlers is that they tend to NOT eat the youngsters unlike guppies (This is in debate as I type)! But to be safe, keep them in a heavily planted tank.
Another plus for endlers is that the females are ready to spawn at the ripe old age of 2 months!
The down-side is that they only live about a year but have produced about 12 spawns by then! (about every 22-24 days)..

no... really?.. However, there are US breeders that have maintained w/c strains...and have insured they have not been crossed with guppies.... Sorta like the C.A.I.R.S program... Bill

Bill....As far as Endlers.....You ARE the GURU on that subject!! So if we decide to go that route for a group breeding project...your knowledge will be needed!

Love the falling mystery snails! I need to get around to taking a video of the tiger endler tank. I love my community tank(s?) but I've started seeing more of a pull to single species tanks. also helps to have a husband who has issues telling me no......

I know the feeling birdmom but since I have large fish it's hard to keep them together. Most of the time I give them their own tank. Shrimps are very neat. Check out the shrimp compatibility link I posted.
