I'd like to suggest that you procure a stand rather than the couch as a hosting site for that tank....(LOL)... We hope you'll post pics of your ongoing effort! Bill

Get more steam plants.

I can't. The only plant I "like" that can go in there is hornwort. Any other plant placed in that tank is a donation to Moe to eat. I think I gave him a handful of water sprite the night before last and other than a few bare steams it's all gone now so had to throw him some lettuce for tonight

This tank doesn't change a lot other than the fake plants multiplying....   and the number of tiger endlers increasing....   I am trying out some spare java moss to see if the fl apple snails eat that too, fully expecting them to, but have plenty and if by some chance they don't, that works too!  



I tell the cat to get off the tank often enough per day I figured I'd let him stay for the picture........

How do you keep the babies from getting sucked up I to the filter? Is there a sponge or screen added to the intake of the power filter?

nope, just regular intake. babies aren't as small as baby shrimp and can avoid it, plus it's usually covered with duckweed and a snail or 2 eating that off the intake. I haven't covered the intake on that ever, and started this tank with 9 adults and 10 fry.
